Patio Bar Set - Weather Plays a Part in What you Will Choose

We bought a patio bar set for our backyard patio because the hubby and I started feeling guilty about sitting inside and entertaining guests when we had this gorgeous patio area to be in. The mission of carting drinks, glasses, chairs and tables outside each time we had friends over was just a bit too much for an already busy housewife like me.

We did have a budget but wanted furniture that was going to look good as well as last. I can clearly remember when I was a kid and how ugly our patio furniture looked after just a year of having it. I actually remember my mother going through 3 patio sets! I didn't want the same thing to happen.

Since we live in a very humid climate we were limited in what we could choose. And when you choose any sort of outside furnishings it is so important to think about sunlight, rainy weather and even wind which can drive the rain into a covered patio.

So remember that mildew is right at home in humid conditions. Even accessories like patio chair cushion covers or table cloths can get ruined by the mold but at least you can throw then in the washing machine should the need arise. With furniture it is usually always outside and therefore should be carefully chosen to withstand harsh environmental conditions.

If you are someone who has the time to clean then it's okay, but you will need to constantly wipe the furniture down. But mold is not the only problem, also think about the sun. If your furniture is in direct sunlight every day, it will also deteriorate quickly.

Plastic patio bar sets are also prone to damage from sunshine especially, and when it's outdoors in the sunshine, you will find the colors fade and the plastic is weakened and might even crack. But plastic will not go rotten and it is ideal in humid regions. Just be careful of really cheap plastic because it is weak and will break sooner than you think. Look for recycled and reinforced plastic patio furniture and you can't go wrong.
If you plan on spending a lot of time on the patio, then put as much effort into decorating it as you would were it an interior room. But the tricky part is that you also have to think about environmental conditions because this part of the house is outside.

This is why you shouldn't just purchase the cheapest outdoor patio furniture. If need be add one piece of furniture each month. An aluminum patio set, bar or outdoor garden furniture is very tough and weather resistant so if you are prepared to spend a little extra, also have a look at that range of stunning designs and outdoor deck furniture.

My husband and I have never regretted spending a bit extra for our outdoor patio bar set. Entertaining outside is that much more fun and enjoyable.
